Mission, an open letter

First and foremost, we stand on a platform of equity of voice.

Through a process of free, open-call, peer-reviewed submissions, this international journal provides a space to share and discuss the transformative power of art. This journal will register as Open Access when it is eligible and does not charge contributors. If money is involved in sharing knowledge, we prefer to pay our contributors, rather than charge them. Thank you, in advance, to our supporters for helping make this possible.

We believe it is imperative to normalize presentational ways-of-knowing (see below) as well-founded academic discourse used to deepen our discussions and understanding of any given theme. As such, we support any shareable method chosen by the knowledge-holder that best demonstrates their concept including, but not limited to, article, essay, music, painting, collage, photography, poetry, presentation, short-story, memoir, video, etc.

This journal adds to the ongoing scholarly conversation about forms of art as catalysts of transformation, whether experienced by witnessing a work by another artist, or by the process of creation, and often it is through the experience of these two in conjunction with each other where transformation occurs. In any and every case, we want to honor these experiences and processes through publication.

I am so very grateful for your interest and any support you can offer. As many of you know, this project embodies my passion, not only for the arts, but for equitable access to academia, and the participation therein.

We are currently in the process of fundraising to publish our first volume. Please check out and share our GoFundMe campaign! https://gofund.me/7d50fe5c

Love,

Amy, Publisher and Founder
